The emblem is fixed to the decklid with 3m tape.
It is recommended to get a clear decklid for a cleaner aesthetic look. But it's not necessary.
The emblem is protected with a clear epoxy resin( The same epoxy used in carbon fiber products ) to ensure it stays protected from scratches and make it shine at all times. The resin might slightly fade with time when exposed to extreme heat. However, you can fix this by Cleaning it with a 1000 sandpaper, applying a clear coat, or cleaning the car or emblem regularly.
